I am the Fat Health Coach, and I feel that, at times, the “health coach” part automatically turns many people away.
Yes, I do work that helps people make better choices and lead healthier lives. However, I want to make it clear that I do not advocate only for better eating and adding movement to one’s life.
With my clients, I’ve found that they don’t always need help with their eating and movement: they need help with loving the body they have and living the life they want to live. And we focus on that and only that. Because, as a health coach, I find that loving your body is the most important thing you can do for your health, even if that means you do it from the couch. And, like The Fat Heffalump says in her great post, “There are no fat people who are unacceptable. Not a one.”
